HIPPIE

A hippie, is someone associated with the counterculture of the mid-1960s to 1970s, originally a youth movement that began in the United States and spread to different countries around the world.
It is a group of people that want more "peace, love & happiness " in the world. They believe humans can all get along, while having different feelings about personal issues.
Hippies opposed political and social orthodoxy, choosing a gentle and nondoctrinaire ideology that favored peace, love, and personal freedom. They were a very out-spoken group of people who also believed Music was a strong healer towards happiness.

In the 1960s, New York City, young counterculture advocates were named hips because they were considered "in the know" or "cool", as opposed to being square, meaning conventional and old-fashioned.
Hippies criticized upper-class values, opposed nuclear weapons and the Vietnam War, embraced aspects of Eastern philosophy, championed sexual liberation, were often vegetarian and eco-friendly, promoted the use of marijuana which they believe expanded one's consciousness. They used alternative arts, street theatre, folk music, and psychedelic rock, as a part of their lifestyle and a way of expressing their feelings, their protests, and their vision of the world and life.
Hippies could be found doing "peaceful protest"

Although the hippie movement was as much about political change and progressive social ideas as it was about free love and peaceful living, it's also true that it was a deeply spiritual movement that took a particular interest in other religions and lifestyles.
It's for that reason that the hippies often would have a much different dress code. They often wore bell-bottom pants and men grew their hair below the shoulders. Everyone was always welcome to their festivals of love, protest, and togetherness.
Hippies can always be found at rock concerts!

FREE LOVE
Hippies often rejected all the traditional rules about relationships. Rules like: you had to be married before having sex (with only one person) or even living with someone of the opposite sex. The idea of “free love” encouraged open, honest connections without judgment or ownership. It wasn’t just about sex but about trust, communication, and emotional freedom.
